  • Your documents and text content are never shared with third parties for marketing
  • Your email address is never sold or provided to mailing lists
  • Your usage patterns are never monetised through data sales
  • We do not engage in behavioural profiling for advertising purposes

How We Use Your Data

We only collect and process data that is necessary to provide and improve our services:

  • Account information (name, email) — to manage your account and communicate with you
  • Documents and text — to perform grammar and spelling corrections
  • Usage analytics — to understand how our service is used and improve the experience

Your text content is processed in real time to provide corrections and is not stored beyond the duration of your session unless you explicitly save a document to your account.

TamilGrammarCheck is designed to comply with major data protection regulations worldwide, including but not limited to:

  • Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) — India's primary legislation governing electronic data, digital signatures, and cybersecurity, including the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA, India) — India's dedicated data protection law that establishes rights for data principals, obligations for data fiduciaries, and rules for lawful processing of personal data

Data Retention

When you delete your account, your personal data and saved documents are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised usage analytics that cannot identify you may be retained for service improvement purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate TamilGrammarCheck (such as cloud hosting, payment processing, authentication, and specialized AI service providers). These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements and are only permitted to process your data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. We do not allow them to use your data for their own purposes.

In particular, real-time AI capabilities are powered by industry-leading providers:

  • Google Gemini — processes Tamil text in real time to generate grammar, spelling, and stylistic suggestions
  • Sarvam AI — provides natural Tamil text-to-speech audio synthesis and optical character recognition (OCR) for document digitisation

Your text content is transmitted securely and ephemerally to these AI services solely to generate the requested corrections or audio. It is not stored by these providers or used to train their external models.
